Hier steckt ganz viel Lindner drin

Andreas Valtl ist seit 1993 bei Lindner. Er hat den „klassischen Lindner-Weg“ genommen und als Monteur bei uns begonnen und dann eine steile Karriere über die Stationen Zweitmonteur, Obermonteur und Bauleiter bis hin zum Projektleiter hingelegt! Heute ist er hauptverantwortlich für einige der Auslandsprojekte, die unser Vertrieb im Bereich International Project Contracting an Land zieht. Eines seiner spannendsten Projekte in letzter Zeit war die Sanierung und der Teilneubau des Rådhus im norwegischen Bodø.

Zwischen Mitte November und Mitte Februar versteckt sich die Sonne in Bodø hinter den Bergen und es bleibt auch tagsüber dunkel. Von Mitte Mai bis Ende Juli hingegen ist es sogar um Mitternacht noch taghell – nur eines der spektakulären Highlights der Stadt, die noch nördlich des Polarkreises liegt. Obwohl die außergewöhnliche Natur Norwegens und die Freundlichkeit und pragmatische Hilfsbereitschaft der ortsansässigen Bauleitung bei Andreas besonderen Eindruck hinterlassen haben, tat er sich doch ein wenig schwer mit dem Tageslicht: In den Wochen vor und nach der Sommersonnenwende ist es in Bodø 24 Stunden lang hell. Daran mochte sich der Organismus nicht recht gewöhnen, sodass in dieser Zeit nicht vor 4:00 Uhr morgens an Schlaf zu denken war.

Bei der Sanierung und dem Teilneubau des Rathauses in Bodø übernahmen Andreas und sein Team bereits vor Montagebeginn die Auswahl von Zulieferern und Subunternehmern vor Ort. Eine besondere Herausforderung stellte die Logistik dar: Ca. 10.000 m²  akustisch wirksame Wand- und Deckenbekleidung, gut 500 m² Vollholzparkett, ca. 130 Glastüren mit diversen Anforderung an Schall- und Brandschutz und einige tausend Quadratmeter Glaswand sowie Atrium-Innenfassaden mit Brandschutz mussten ihren Weg nach Norwegen finden. Und das war nicht immer einfach: Teilweise mussten die LKW 3.000 km bei bis zu -35 °C und durch Eis und Schnee zurücklegen! Der starke Wind, der oft durch die Stadt am Nordatlantik fegt, machte es immer wieder unmöglich, Kräne einzusetzen.

Aber die Logistik war nicht die einzige Herausforderung für Andreas: Die zu verbauenden Produkte, die unseren gängigen Normen entsprechen, mit den norwegischen Normen in Einklang zu bringen, bedeutete immer wieder einigen Aufwand. Auch Änderungen seitens der Architekten während der Bauphase, die Steuerung der Montage und die Kontrolle der Kosten gehören zu Andreas Job. Dennoch konnte das Projekt nach einem Jahr pünktlich und sehr erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden. Ganz am Ende stand natürlich die Übergabe der fertigen Arbeiten an den Kunden. Und auf diese tolle Leistung können Andreas und sein Team wirklich stolz sein!

Where our heart beats - Lindner

Andreas Valtl has been with Lindner since 1993. He pursued the "classical Lindner career" and started as a fitter with us, then became second fitter, senior fitter and site manager. Today, he is project manager and primarily responsible for some of the international projects that our sales department in the International Project Contracting division is landing. One of his most exciting projects recently was the renovation and partial new construction of the Rådhus (town hall) in Bodø, Norway.

Between mid-November and mid-February the sun hides behind the mountains in Bodø and it stays dark during the day. From mid-May to the end of July, however, it is still bright as day at midnight – just one of the spectacular highlights of the city, which lies even north of the Arctic Circle. Although the extraordinary nature of Norway and the friendliness and pragmatic willingness to help of the local construction management left a special impression on Andreas, he still found the daylight situation somehow difficult: During the weeks before and after the summer solstice, there is daylight for 24 hours in Bodø. The organism didn’t really get used to it, so that during this time it was not possible to think about sleep until 4:00 a.m.

During the renovation and partial new construction of the town hall in Bodø, Andreas and his team took over the selection of suppliers and subcontractors on site before the start of assembly. The logistics were facing a particular challenge: Approx. 10,000 m² of sound-insulated partition and ceiling claddings, a good 500 m² of solid wood parquet, approx. 130 glass doors meeting various requirements for sound insulation and fire protection as well as several thousand square meters of glass partitions and atrium interior facade with fire protection had to find their way to Norway. And that wasn't always easy: Sometimes the trucks had to cover 3,000 km at temperatures as low as -35 ° C through ice and snow! The strong wind, which often sweeps through the city on the North Atlantic, repeatedly made it impossible to use cranes.

But the logistics were not the only challenge for Andreas and his team: To bring the installed products meeting our standards in line with the Norwegian standards always meant a lot of effort. Changes made by the architects during the construction phase, the control of the assembly and the control of costs are part of Andreas Job as well. Nevertheless, the project was completed on time and very successfully after one year. At the very end, of course, the finished work was handed over to the customer. And Andreas and his team can be really proud of this great project!
